About the Atlas

The Sri Lanka Heritage Atlas brings together the island's Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and Christian sacred places, prehistoric caves, ancient cities, colonial forts, industrial and maritime sites, vernacular architecture and natural landscapes — on one map, with every claim traced to a source.

We prefer "Information being verified" to guesswork. If you know something we don't — or spot an error — please tell us. Corrections are reviewed by a curator before anything changes.
